IRONMAN TRIATHLON – LOS CABOS OCTOBER 2016

IRONMAN TRIATHLON – LOS CABOS OCTOBER 2016

Los Cabos – the amazing world-class resort destination located at the tip of the
Baja Peninsula in Baja California Sur, Mexico will be host again to the incredible IRONMAN triathlon on October 30, 2016. IRONMAN races are some of the most grueling and intense races in the world, which make these events hugely popular among both athletes and fans. Finishing a race like this is quite an incredible accomplishment and challenges a person’s ability to push beyond their boundaries and go the distance.
Athletes racing the IRONMAN will begin with a 3.8 km swim in the azure waters of the Sea of Cortez, followed by a 180 km bike course and a 42.2 km run that travels along the 20-mile Corridor that connects Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo where views of the rugged cliffs, desert vistas, and majestic mountains make the race distinctly unique for both competitors as well as spectators. Athletes who choose to compete in the IRONMAN 70.3 will have a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike course, and a 21.1 km run.
Known for its vibrant nightlife and its laid back atmosphere Cabo San Lucas offers visitors a variety of attractions and activities that showcase the heart of Mexico’s western coast while offering world-class service and amenities. Natural wonders such as El Arco, a remarkable rock formation in the shape of an arch and Lover’s Beach where you can dip your feet in the Sea of Cortez and then cross over to Divorce Beach and view the impressive shores of the Pacific Ocean.
San José del Cabo offers world-class services and amenities as well but with a more quaint old-world style atmosphere. Historic buildings like a Jesuit Mission and quaint cobblestoned streets transport visitors back in time.
The warm water, scenic bike routes, and flat running courses make racing in Los Cabos a perfect place for the IRONMAN competition. There are also plenty of activities for after the race or if you are just visiting as a spectator. Golfing, sport fishing, water sports, ziplining, riding on ATVs are just a few of the many fun things to do in Cabo.
