Fishing Tournaments In Los Cabos – Fall 2016
Every year Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico is host to some of the largest and richest fishing tournaments than just about anywhere else on earth. Tournament season starts in late June and runs into November. The best part about the tournament scene here in Cabo San Lucas is you don’t have to be a tycoon to enter. Fees can start in the low hundreds. However, the bigger the entry fees – the bigger the winnings. Bisbee’s Black & Blue, the biggest money tournament, will cost about $60,000 if you enter across the board. The record winner has taken home $3.9 million back in 2006 and in 2012 the winner took home $2.5 million. Here’s a breakdown of the upcoming fall tournaments.
Los Cabos Billfish Tournament October 11-14, 2016
The Los Cabos Billfish Tournament is going into its 16th year as one of the top tournaments in Mexico and is known for attracting the best of the best in anglers. The large prize pool has earned teams hundreds of thousands of dollars. Prize money goes to the top three teams with the most going to the team that tallies the most points per pound. A trophy and smaller cash prize is awarded to the boat releasing the most billfish.
Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore October 14-16, 2016
The Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore Tournament is quickly becoming one of the biggest in town! This is the second of three Bisbee events in southern Baja. Many teams consider this the perfect practice run because it takes place a few days before the multi-million dollar Black and Blue tourney. This tournament also has a cheaper entry fee therefore, is open to a wider range of anglers.

This tournament is the Big Daddy of the Cabo San Lucas Tournament Season and has paid out big over its 30+ year history. This event attracts anglers, teams, and boats from all over the world to compete for the multi-million dollar prize pool.
