Punta Sur opened in 1987 – making it the oldest course in Los Cabos.
This 3,141 yard course located in San José del Cabo was originally built by the Mexican government in order to boost tourism in the southern Baja California peninsula.
It was purchased in 2004 by the Mayan Resorts and changed hands again in 2009.
This 9-hole course has stayed true to its original design, however several improvements have been made since.
Even though the course is great for beginners as well as intermediate golfers, Punta Sur may be more challenging than originally anticipated due to the fairways not being very wide.
Offering beautifully green Bermuda grass, numerous bunkers, and stunning scenery this course is the most affordable play in Los Cabos….just make sure to plan ahead because it’s often crowded.
